Redwing has taken another step towards transforming city centre living at Plaza 1821 with the opening of a new resident’s lounge.
Located on the ground floor of the new development, the lounge provides an exclusive space for the buildings residents to relax, work, and meet. Designed by Liverpool-based studio Unit3, the dedicated area contrasts rich woods and fireplaces with concrete effect surfaces and modern furnishings to evoke the maritime heritage of Princes Dock.
The new space provides Plaza 1821 residents with an ideal place for home working just steps from their apartment, which has already been much welcomed by tenants in the current COVID-19 pandemic. Spacious desks and tables feature alongside presentation TVs, high-speed wireless internet and waterfront views to provide a welcoming, clean, socially-distanced place to complete projects or meet virtually with colleagues.
The residents lounge not only provides a place to work, but a place for tenants to socialise and relax in a safe and secure environment. Sumptuous leather sofas and comfortable furnishings are perfect for catching up with friends, whilst a cinema projector will give neighbours the opportunity to enjoy film nights and social occasions together.
The new space even pays homage to the history of Plaza 1821’s site at Princes Dock, with partitions featuring carvings of the original Liverpool dock system layout – of which there are panoramic views from the lounge’s full-height windows.
