Pets can be an important part of family life, and provide wellbeing and mental health benefits.

If you are thinking about getting a pet, please consider:

  • Whether your home has enough space.
  • Whether you can provide the daily care an animal needs.
  • Whether your tenancy allows pets.

Permission for pets

You must ask us for permission before bringing a pet into your home.

When you make a request to us, we will look at things like yourproperty type, pet welfare, and tenancy conditions.

Some tenancy and lease agreements have restrictions on the types and numbers of pets allowed. If you are unsure, please check your agreement or contact us.

To request permission, please contact us using our online form at the bottom of this page, or by calling our customer service team. We will ask about:

  • How many pets you would like to keep
  • The type and breed of each pet

Unfortunately, in some cases, we may not be able to approve a pet. This may apply if your   property doesn't have a   private outdoor space, has shared entrances, or where legislation restricts certain breeds.

Keeping a pet without permission is not allowed under your tenancy or lease agreement. If this happens, we will talk with you to understand the situation and agree the next steps together. In some cases, this may mean that the pet cannot stay in the home, which is why it’s important to get permission from Redwing before bringing an animal into your property.

We will keep you informed throughout the process.
