We understand how important pets can be and the range of benefits they can provide to their owners.

If you are thinking of getting a pet, you need to consider whether your lifestyle and home is suitable and whether it can be housed securely and properly cared for. You will also need to ask us for permission to keep a pet, as this may not be permitted, or only specific pets may be permitted in your tenancy or lease agreement.

Please get permission from us before you move a pet into your home - if you don’t, you’re breaking the terms of your tenancy or lease agreement. We wouldn’t want to have to ask you to get rid of a pet.

Before you move a pet into your home, we’ll need to know:

  • How many pets you want to keep at your home
  • The type of pet you'd like to have

What happens next?

Your property manager will assess your request and confirm in writing whether your lease or tenancy agreement permits a pet.

  • You’ll need to make sure your pet doesn’t cause any damage to your home and that all pet mess is quickly cleaned up. If any damage is caused, it’s your responsibility to repair this at your own cost as soon as possible.

  • Please clean up any mess your pet leaves in communal (shared) areas straight away.

  • You’ll need to regularly treat your pet for fleas and worms - if you think your animal might have fleas, treat the problem straight away.

If you are having any problems with a pet, please speak to your property manager on 0344 736 0063 or by emailing info@redwing.co.uk.
