New Government reforms around leasehold homeownership

We welcome the new Government reforms around leasehold home ownership following today’s announcement by Housing Secretary, Robert Jenrick.

The new reforms are the biggest change to property law in the last 40 years, allowing leaseholders to extend their lease by 990 years with zero ground rent charges. Making it easier and cheaper for leaseholders to buy their home.

At Redwing, we do not charge our customers any ground rent, however, we recognise the financial benefits the new reforms will have on leaseholders across the country. We understand the new reforms are a positive change to the property sector, ensuring that homeownership is fair and secure for current and future leaseholders, especially those who wish to become the freeholder of their home.

We are delighted to offer our current and future customers a fantastic 990-year lease and are looking forward to helping customers understand the impact and opportunities the new reforms will have on their property.

If you are a current Redwing leaseholder and would like to speak to us about the new reforms, please do not hesitate to get in touch via 0344 736 0063.
